Departures
Fettitt's Lane
Consisting of a series of large black and white graphics. Working in collaboration with Wexford Borough Council, and 4 other artists we placed the work outside of the conventional gallery space. This public art project at Fettitt's Lane, Wexford entitled ‘Departures’ examines the very current and prevalent subject of emigration.
Fettitt's Lane is the site of Wexford town’s original shoreline however it is now primarily used as a short cut between Church St. car park, Anne St., and North Main St. The past and present use of the lane as a point of departure, arrival, connection and journey made it the perfect setting for this work.
An array of migrating birds and paintings through frames are also included in this public art work created by a further 12 artists.
